Turn basic foods or purees into more exciting oral experiences with Duo Spoon’s textured spoon heads and fun, kid-friendly design.

When it’s finally time to move from milk and liquids into more solid foods, it can be challenging to get your child interested in trying something new; especially if they have an oral stimulation sensitivity. That’s why we created Duo Spoons, smart mouth exploration tools that feature textured heads and support those with sensory challenges.

Expand Your Child’s Palate

The innovative textures not only stimulate the mouth and gums it also “wakes up” the upper lip as it moves across the spoon bowl. This alerts the lip to increase activity during oral motor treatment, creating a more engaged experience kids will love. And because it works with all types of food textures, including crumbs, sticky foods, and purees, it offers a one-of-a-kind stimulation.

Hug-like pressure for everyday sensory needs

Some children with special needs seek the close-fitting sensation of firm pressure around their bodies. The Special Supplies Adjustable Sensory Compression Vest offers a wearable way to provide that input, combining flexible neoprene with adjustable hook-and-loop closures. Sizes are available for children, teens, and adults.

Make sensory input part of familiar routines

For a wearer who enjoys compression, the vest can be used during activities such as reading, drawing, tabletop play, or a sensory break. Its wearable design leaves the hands free, so the wearer can take part in an activity while receiving pressure around the upper body.

Parents, caregivers, educators, and therapists can use the wearer’s comfort and individual needs to guide when the vest is appropriate. Sensory preferences vary, and not everyone enjoys compression.

Adjust the fit, not just the size

The hook-and-loop closures let you adjust how closely the vest fits around the torso. Flexible neoprene follows the body’s shape, while the option to wear it over or under clothing lets you choose the layering the wearer prefers.

Aim for a comfortable, snug fit, not the tightest possible fit.

Product details

• Material: Flexible neoprene

• Closures: Adjustable hook-and-loop

• Sizes: XS, Small, Medium, and Large

• Colors: Green, Gray, Blue, Purple, and Black

• Wearing options: Over or under clothing

Choosing a size

Choose by measurements and fit rather than age or usual clothing size alone. If you are unsure which size to order, contact Special Supplies for sizing assistance before purchasing.

Fit and use

The vest should feel snug without restricting breathing or movement. Children should use it with adult supervision. Stop use if it causes discomfort. An occupational therapist can provide individualized guidance on whether compression is appropriate for the wearer.

Give sensory-seeking children a way to stretch, reach, and feel resistance as they move. The Special Supplies Sensory Body Sock is a stretchy fabric sack that surrounds the arms, shoulders, legs, and feet, providing pressure against the body during movement. It offers children with special needs who enjoy this type of sensory input a simple option for movement breaks and body-awareness activities.

Make movement part of a sensory break

Pushing arms and legs against the fabric creates resistance that children can explore through reaching, stretching, and making different body shapes. Parents, caregivers, educators, and therapists can incorporate it into guided activities at home, in the classroom, or in a therapy setting.

Stretchy fabric with a snap closure

The lightweight, breathable fabric stretches with the user. A snap closure fastens the opening without hook-and-loop strips, a useful feature for shoppers looking for an alternative closure style.

Choose by fit

The body sock is offered for children, teens, and adults who fit the available sizes. Check the dimensions before ordering rather than choosing by age alone.

Product dimensions, length × width:

• Small: 40 × 27 inches

• Medium: 47 × 27 inches

• Large: 56 × 28 inches

Available colors are green, orange, and blue. Select your preferred size and color from the available options.

Sensory preferences vary. Consider whether the intended user enjoys close-fitting fabric and resistance during movement when deciding whether this body sock suits their needs.

For children who seek movement while sitting, a rocking seat offers a different experience from a stationary chair. The Special Supplies Sensory Rocking Chair combines gentle back-and-forth motion with a padded cushion and headrest pillow, giving children a comfortable place for seated activities and sensory breaks.

Parents and caregivers can create a reading spot or add a movement option to a home sensory space. Educators and therapists can offer the rocker as a supervised seating choice during stories, quiet activities, or breaks between tasks. It is a practical option for children with special needs who enjoy rocking as part of their everyday routines.

Size and fit

Recommended for children ages 3–8, with a maximum weight capacity of 88 lb. Consider both your child’s size and their seating needs when choosing the chair.

The rocker’s footprint is approximately 33 inches long × 15 inches wide. The width refers to the whole rocker, not just the seat. Allow additional clear space for rocking.

Construction and contents

The rocker has a sturdy metal frame with fabric seating and padded cushioning. Each box includes one rocker, a padded cushion, and a headrest pillow. Assembly is required.

Cleaning and storage

Wipe the frame with a damp cloth and mild soap. The fabric cushion can be hand-washed or machine-washed using mild detergent. Avoid bleach and harsh or abrasive cleaners.

Allow all parts to dry completely before use or storage. Store indoors in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Safe use

Use with close adult supervision, one child at a time, on a hard, flat, non-slip floor. Do not allow standing on or jumping off the rocker.

Keep the chair away from stairs, sloped surfaces, water, and heat sources. Keep fingers, toes, and hair clear of fasteners and moving parts. Check for loose hardware or damaged parts before each use, and follow the assembly and safety instructions.

Do not exceed 88 lb. Not suitable for adults or children under 3.

Assembly

Assembly is required. The kit includes small hardware that can pose a choking hazard. Keep loose parts away from children during assembly.

Available in different styles and flavors
